What do you love? What drives you forward every day? If you have a quick and obvious answer, you are a lucky person. Take a minute to think about the thing or things that energize you and revel in them. If, however, no answer springs to mind, then perhaps it should become one of your priorities.
Many people go through their whole life simply surviving, never finding their true passion or, if they do know what it is, then just for some reason never pursuing it. The question that immediately jumps to mind is “Why the hell not?” There are very few things in life more important than being happy. Who wants to be rich if you are not happy? Who wants to have success or fame if you are not enjoying it?
It is not too late for you. You are not too old, too young, too skinny, too fat, too poor, too rich, too stupid or too smart to pursue your dreams. Simply get after the things that you love. Make them a priority so that you can enjoy your day-to-day existence and not just your once-in-a-while moments. There is no point in grinding it out 40-60 hours a week at work if you are not doing it for a purpose other than to pay bills and/or accumulate wealth.
If you don’t know what you love, if you truly cannot figure it out, then just keep trying new things. Keep exploring a variety of options until something jumps out at you and reveals itself as something you truly enjoy. Once you have identified this activity, past time, or hobby, make it a priority in your day-to-day life -- make it something that is a part of you. If you are living your life without the things that you love as a part of that life, you are not living with the joy and passion that you deserve.
