Water – sip it all day long. Not too much per mouth full in fact small sips are better as they allow for the best absorption.
Sleep – go to bed before 10pm, stay away from your computer after 8pm and keep your cell phone in the other room when you close your eyes. We are sensitive creatures and led lights and cell phone are our enemy during our sleep hours. Lastly, get up at the same time every day.
Stress – easy, choose to not be stressed. The best offence for stress is to become more organized. If there are other issues at play, remove them or learn to live with them and don’t chose to be stressed about it. Stress kills.
Snacks – don’t go for more than 3hrs without eating. Small amounts of nuts/seeds, vegetables, legumes and lean meats make great snacks. Keep away from processed foods or backed goods. Hint: nothing out of a bag with flashy advertisements.
Exercise – you don’t have to be an ironman to exercise. Go for a short walk somewhere you have never been or reverse a walk you have done before. Get out with an umbrella because this is a beautiful season to soak up.
Stretch – google easy stretches or ask a friend over to stretch. Get a book or ask a friend. Stretching will keep us young and more willing to try new activities.
Breathe – if you sit at a desk or drive a car or live in this world, take time to breathe the way we are designed to. Our diaphragm is a powerful tool that everyone needs to use. It keeps us strong on the inside and breathing well will help us sleep plus keeps stress at bay.
Cook – it may be impossible to eat out and stay healthy or to get healthy. Try new recipes for soups and vegetable dishes. Experience the joy of cooking a healthy meal as this will promote adherence to a potential exercise program.
Learn – try something new or learn something new. Your old habits are not helping you change so don’t expect to do the same thing and expect a different result. Be proud of yourself for expanding your mind as expanding your healthy lifestyle will be easier with practice.
Buy organic and non-medicated food – we live in a toxic world and the toxic loads we experience are hard on our body. This may be a good topic to start to learn about…
Invest – your body is your greatest investment. Manage your portfolio and it will pay back 100 fold. It’s the only one we have so don’t wait till it’s too late…
