Today I would like you to do something a little different, perhaps something radical.
Today I would like you to swim upstream and challenge the status quo.
Today I would like you to go against the grain- in your own life.
Tuesday sees many people hard at work, executing the plan they set for the week, or sometimes merely trying to keep their head above water or play catch up. The point is, almost everybody is busy DOING. While this is all well and good, and we need to spend at least us much time in action as we do in visioning, today I'd like to propose an exercise, a framework to direct that action.
Today I want you to write your own eulogy. You see, for most of us, we'll never have a book written about our lives, or a movie made to commemorate our legacy. For most of us (which is by no means a bad thing), the most detailed and high-level account we'll ever have of the impact we had on this world will be our eulogy.
There are 2 problems with this. First, it is written by somebody else. Second, it is written on (God's/ the Universe's/ someone else's) timeline. Today I'd like you to write your own eulogy in a way that would make you the happiest and most proud if this was exactly what was written about you after you pass away.
What did you do? What did you innovate? How are your loved ones better for having known you? How will the world never be the same (in a good way) because of you?
Write down what you WANT to mean to the world, and then you can guess what tomorrow's homework will be...
Take the first of hopefully over 1 million tiny steps to manifest that best life possible.
Get busy living!
